MazePawn is a free two-player abstract strategy game played on a nine-by-nine grid. Each player races a pawn to the opposite side of the board while spending ten walls to lengthen the other player's route. You may block your opponent, but you may never seal them off completely — so a route always exists for both players and somebody always arrives first. A game takes about five minutes and no account is needed to play.
On your turn you either move your pawn one square or place one wall, never both. Pawns step up, down, left or right; when the two pawns meet face to face you jump straight over your opponent, or diagonally to either side of them if a wall or the board edge blocks the square behind. Each wall is two squares long, sits in the groove between squares, is permanent once placed, and blocks both players equally.
